Upcoming Privacy Changes and GDPR

Thank you for choosing Libsyn.

We strive to maintain our status as one of the worlds most trusted podcast hosting platforms, and central to this goal is the security and privacy of the information you provide to us as a part of your Libsyn account.

The Libsyn platform hosts podcasters from all over the world, and we love our global community. This presence requires us to take a comprehensive look at privacy regulation.

Today, we are sharing how we are preparing to meet the requirements of the new data protection law, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), going into effect on May 25th, 2018.

Over the next several weeks, we will be sharing more about the changes and updates that may impact your Libsyn account under the requirements of GDPR.

Please keep an eye out for the following and take action when requested:

  • Updated Libsyn Terms of Service
  • Updated Privacy Policy
  • Additional information on data transparency
  • Changes to user consent which may affect how you sign-up or opt-in to services
  • Libsyn dashboard alerts
  • Further email communications

GDPR creates consistent data protection rules across the European Union (EU) and applies to companies based in the EU as well as companies around the world that provide services and process data from or about individuals in the EU. GDPR has a broader scope than current EU data protection laws and substantial fines for compliance violations. There is a higher standard of consent required from individuals and GDPR provides for broader individual rights to accessing and porting data. To learn more about GDPR, please visit:

We are committed to data protection and privacy and are taking these steps to continue to comply with data protection laws. We encourage you to review all updated information and take action as necessary to help us to continue to deliver a world-class podcast hosting service to you.
